Gainesville Photography
This first series of images focuses on the theme of people in their own spaces. I took to creating a narrative that invites an audience into the life of primarily the youth in Gainesville, Florida. I want the audience to get a glimpse of people's personal sides/places. To take these images I configured a list of the people around me that I thought would be willing to get involved in the project. When I was given the opportunity, I visited the homes of Florida students and practiced with candid, staged, and methodically thought-out positions in their homes to try and capture a sense of them and their surroundings. The visual elements that are consistent in my pieces are location and portraiture. Throughout this process, I learned to value the tiny details in these images and gained a deeper understanding of each person.
University of Florida’s Gator Growl and Homecoming Events
In the fall of 2023, I participated in the University of Florida’s Gator Growl and Homecoming events. Here, I was able to photograph artists Jason Derulo and Sammy Adams. I also was the main photographer for the University’s Gator Gallop, a 2-mile fun run around campus that is done annually.
The Harn Museum
This second image series is taken from the Harn Museum of Art’s Instagram. In the summer of 2023, I was given the fantastic opportunity to intern at the museum for the fall semester as their photography intern. During this time, I learned invaluable information about different kinds of photography, my favorite new types being event and product photography. In December of 2023, the Harn Museum of Art offered to extend my internship into the spring semester. I can’t wait to learn more from my amazing supervisor and the other members of the Marketing/PR department.
