During my internship with digital advertising company, EFFCT, I designed three magazine covers for the Future of Life Institute’s Superintelligence Imagined contest, illustrating potential risks and consequences of artificial superintelligence. Each cover serves as a visual narrative, highlighting key concerns such as AI-driven warfare, societal disruption, and ethical dilemmas.
The hypothetical Atlantic's 2043 magazine cover highlights the dangers of bioweapons and the risks of ASI misuse. The cover portrays a scenario where a bad actor hacks the ASI originally designed to cure cancer, repurposing it to create a deadly bioweapon. This shows the severe threat of engineered pandemics due to ASI and the question if ASI can save humanity from the threats it creates.
